Roma defender Evan Ndicka has been released from the hospital following his collapse during the Serie A match against Udinese on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international experienced chest pains on the field, but medical tests confirmed that he did not suffer a heart attack. The club announced that Ndicka has been discharged and will undergo further examinations in Rome.
Roma expressed their gratitude to Udinese, referee Luca Pairetto, and the medical staff at the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine for their professionalism. The values of sportsmanship and prioritizing life were demonstrated during the incident.
The Serie A game was halted after Ndicka’s collapse in the 72nd minute, and the remaining match will be rescheduled.
Ndicka, who joined Roma from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, is reported to be in better condition after his teammates visited him in the hospital.
