Former Inter Milan captain, Samir Handanovic, was observed scouting Michael Kayode during Fiorentina’s recent victory over Lazio at home, indicating Inter’s potential interest in the player. Handanovic, as reported by FcInternews, attended the match at Stadio Franchi in Florence where Fiorentina secured a 2-1 win against Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.
Kayode’s notable performance, which included his first Serie A goal, seemingly caught Handanovic’s attention. According to reports, Handanovic specifically traveled to Florence to assess the 19-year-old player’s abilities with a view towards a potential transfer to Inter Milan.
While discussions between the parties remain in the preliminary stages, it has been indicated that Inter Milan is keen on arranging a meeting with Kayode’s representatives before the end of March, possibly before Easter. Andrea Ritorni, a member of Kayode’s entourage, mentioned on Tuesday that the player is content with his current situation at Fiorentina, given his long-term contract with the club.
However, Ritorni also acknowledged the interest of “several” Premier League clubs in Kayode’s services, with Arsenal reportedly among those closely monitoring the player’s performances. Arsenal scouts have been frequent attendees at Stadio Franchi to observe Kayode’s development on the field.
