According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giuseppe Chinè, the Prosecutor of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), will conduct hearings with Juan Jesus and Francesco Acerbi before the upcoming weekend, facilitating the Sports Judge’s adjudication anticipated for the following week.
The investigation led by FIGC Prosecutor Chinè revolves around alleged racist remarks attributed to Francesco Acerbi directed towards Juan Jesus during the Serie A match between Inter and Napoli last Sunday.
In light of Sports Judge Gerardo Mastrandrea’s request for further inquiry, Prosecutor Chinè will imminently proceed with the hearings involving Juan Jesus and Acerbi.
As per the information provided by Gazzetta, Juan Jesus is scheduled to meet with the Prosecutor on Thursday, March 21, whereas Acerbi’s hearing is slated for Friday. Acerbi is expected to engage in a conference call with Chinè from Inter’s training facility, accompanied by legal representation from the club.
Chinè may also consider hearing testimony from Federico La Penna, the referee of the Inter-Napoli match, and subsequently furnish all pertinent documentation to the Sports Judge by the weekend.
Consequently, it is anticipated that Judge Mastrandrea will render his verdict in the ensuing week. Should Acerbi be found culpable, he faces a minimum suspension of ten matches, effectively concluding his participation for the season.
