In accordance with a report by Tuttosport, the continuation of Francesco Acerbi’s tenure at Inter remains uncertain, with the club expressing dissatisfaction regarding his media presence during recent tumultuous events.
Tuttosport suggests that Inter may opt to part ways with the Italian international Acerbi at the conclusion of the ongoing season. This decision reportedly stems from the Nerazzurri’s disapproval of the manner in which the seasoned defender handled communication amidst a legal dispute, culminating in his exoneration from a racism allegation.
It is reported that Inter had advised Acerbi to adopt a discreet approach subsequent to allegations made by Juan Jesus. However, contrary to this counsel, Acerbi granted two interviews. The first took place at the Milan train station, where journalists awaited his return from the Italian national team following his exclusion from the squad. The second interview was conducted with Il Corriere della Sera and was published on Friday.
Numerous sources within Italy asserted that Acerbi would have departed Inter had he been found guilty of racism. Nonetheless, according to Tuttosport, the verdict of the sports judge may not significantly alter Acerbi’s prospects at San Siro.
As per the report, Inter has already identified two prospective replacements for Acerbi: Perr Schurrs and Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino, as well as Jaka Bijol from Udinese.
Acerbi’s contractual obligations with Inter are set to expire in June 2025.
