Former Arsenal midfielder Kristoffer Olsson, who is currently affiliated with FC Midtjylland (Denmark), was recently hospitalized in critical condition after being found unconscious at his residence.
A week ago, Midtjylland midfielder Kristoffer Olsson was found unconscious at his residence. Promptly detected, Olsson was immediately transported to the hospital for emergency treatment.
At Aarhus University Hospital, physicians administered a respirator to Olsson. They diagnosed the Swedish midfielder with an acute neurological condition.
Despite the incident occurring some time ago, Midtjylland only made an announcement today. The Danish club declined to comment further beyond stating Olsson’s temporary absence from play and extending well wishes for the 28-year-old midfielder’s swift recovery.
Notably, Kristoffer Olsson was a product of Arsenal’s youth academy. However, he only appeared in one match for the Gunners, coming on as a substitute in their League Cup third-round victory against West Brom in the 2013/14 season.
Unable to secure a position at the Emirates, Olsson was loaned to Midtjylland before being permanently transferred to a Danish club in January 2015.
Between 2017 and 2023, Olsson continued to play for various clubs in Sweden, Russia, and Belgium. Last summer, the 28-year-old midfielder returned to Midtjylland after parting ways with Anderlecht.
In the current season, Olsson has made 20 appearances across all competitions for Midtjylland, contributing five assists. Despite Olsson’s limited contributions at the Emirates, Arsenal still extend their well wishes to the Swedish midfielder.
On their official website, Arsenal expressed their hopes for Olsson’s swift recovery and return to play: “Get well soon, Kristoffer. We wish you a speedy recovery.”
