Despite securing a victory against Frosinone, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri faced criticism from Italian newspapers for his team’s performance.
Juventus took an early lead in their Sunday afternoon encounter with Frosinone, but goals from Walid Cheddira and Marco Brescianini saw them fall behind 2-1 in the first half. Dusan Vlahovic equalized with his second goal of the day, but thereafter, the match remained tense.
It wasn’t until the 95th minute that Juventus managed to snatch a late winner through Daniele Rugani, securing all three points and ending a winless streak.
La Gazzetta dello Sport expressed disappointment with Allegri and Juventus, stating, “Despite the relief of ending a winless month and Allegri surpassing 1000 career points in Serie A, it’s evident that Juventus still have issues. Despite experimenting with a 4-3-3 formation during the week, they reverted to a 3-5-2 setup.”
Tuttosport was even more critical, remarking, “The quick goal may have given the impression that the match would be smooth sailing, but Frosinone managed to trouble Juventus. Instead of merely resetting, serious reflection is needed. The first half was a nightmare, and the late victory in the 95th minute may serve as a turning point.”
Corriere dello Sport offered a slightly more lenient assessment, stating, “It was a hard-fought victory in terms of method, standings, and timing. Allegri surpasses the 1000-point mark, and the late surge is convincing.
