Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are still looking for a proven striker, despite the fact that Rasmus Hojlund is beginning to show off his goal scoring abilities.
For a while, Harry Kane was a hot topic at Old Trafford. The crowd there wanted him to join Manchester United when he was still playing for Tottenham in the Premier League.
But the England captain chose to leave Tottenham for the German giants Bayern Munich instead.
However, West Ham United coach Kevin Nolan thinks that “Manchester United will be his next destination” and that the 30-year-old will return to the Premier League very soon, he told talkSPORT.
Bayern signed their star striker, who scored 33 goals, to a contract that would run until 2027 and paid a record-breaking fee for him.
Nolan described the “aura” that Kane has to play for a team like Man United and said that it would take a huge amount of money to bring him back.
“I can certainly see him back in the Premier League,” said Nolan.
“I don’t think Tottenham would have ever have sold him to Manchester United, but for him to go to Bayern Munich, then it’s easier for him to come back from Germany and I think Man United will be his destination.
“I think they (Bayern) would want their money back. Of course (he is worth it). 20+ goals every season and he was playing for Tottenham during them times as well.
“Realistically, are Man United as good as Tottenham? But I just think he brings a different aura to them anyway, a different aura to the team as soon as he puts the shirt on for, whoever.
“But I probably think Man United would be the one.”
The future of Anthony Martial at Man United is uncertain and the club may look for a new striker in the summer transfer window. One of the names that has been linked with them is Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich last year.
Kane could be an ideal fit for United, as he has proven himself in the Premier League and can mentor Hojlund, their young striker. He can also provide a reliable source of goals for the team.
However, Bayern are not willing to let go of Kane so easily. He has been their best player this season and they still have hopes of winning the Champions League with him. They would demand a huge fee for the England captain, which could deter United from making a move.
