The cost of Luis Suarez’s adjacency to Messi is not inexpensive, as the Uruguayan forward has spent a staggering sum of $11.5 million.
Former teammates at the now-defunct Barcelona club, Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez and Argentine star Lionel Messi have reunited at Inter Miami. Suarez has signed a one-year contract with an option for an additional year extension with Inter Miami, after transferring to play for the team in the Major League Soccer (MLS) as a free agent from Gremio.
Luis Suarez was recently voted the Player of the Week for the third week of MLS 2024, after scoring a brace in Inter Miami’s 5-0 victory over Orlando City. The 37-year-old striker also provided two assists in Inter Miami’s emphatic win against Orlando City. Suarez is the first Uruguayan player to receive this award since 2020. It is noteworthy that Diego Rossi was the last Uruguayan player to receive the Player of the Week award in the highest league of the United States.
Not only has Suarez formed an effective attacking duo with Messi at Inter Miami, but he has also demonstrated a close bond with the Argentine star in everyday life. Specifically, Suarez has purchased a mansion in the Bay Colony neighborhood of Miami with Messi. According to reports, Luis Suarez and his wife Sofia Balbi had to shell out a staggering $11.5 million to acquire the deed to this mansion.
The luxurious mansion that Suarez purchased in the same neighborhood as Messi boasts a 500-square-meter area. Additionally, it features 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a private pathway to the dock, a swimming pool, a gym, a spa, and notably, 24/7 security. Living close to Messi is not the only advantage that the Uruguayan forward gained from the property transfer, as this area is also very close to Inter Miami’s training center and stadium, as well as the schools attended by Suarez’s children.
Before Suarez, the house-hunting endeavor of Argentine star Lionel Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo in Miami also yielded excellent results. The Inter Miami forward purchased a mansion in Bay Colony for $10.8 million, just a 16-minute drive from DRV PNK Stadium.
Messi’s new mansion features an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, and a spa, with the kitchen area designed by an Italian architect. It also comprises 9 rooms, with the main living area for Messi and his wife covering nearly 500 square meters. Additionally, it boasts 9 bathrooms and a garage that can accommodate 3 cars. The mansion was built in 1988 and renovated in 2000 by its previous owners, John and Stacy Dickerson.
