Aurélien Tchouaméni (24), a midfielder for Real Madrid, compared the Kylian Mbappé (25) saga to a “film” and said he did not know where his fellow Frenchman would end up playing next.
Mbappé’s transfer drama appears to be nearing its end. The striker informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he would not renew his contract, which expires at the end of this season. PSG manager Luís Enrique hinted at Mbappé’s imminent exit after his team’s 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on Tuesday, stating, “He won’t be here in the near future.”
It seems that Real Madrid is Mbappé’s likely destination. La Liga president Javier Tebas told L’Équipe that he is “99% sure” that he will move to the Bernabeu, whilst multiple outlets in France, notably Le Parisien and Foot Mercato, have reported that an agreement has been reached to join Los Blancos.
Tchouaméni – I don’t know
If there is an agreement between Mbappé and Real Madrid, his France national team teammate is unaware of it, even if he admitted that he is enjoying the saga. “When I saw he was leaving, I was asleep. I woke up, I saw and I tweeted a popcorn emoji to say: “we’ll see what will happen.” It’s like a film anyway,” he told Canal Plus after Real Madrid’s draw against RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
“If he’ll become a teammate here at Real Madrid, only time will tell. Is it getting close? I don’t know. I can ask if the president (Florention Perez) wants to come and speak to you. We’ll see what he tells you, but we don’t have any news,” added the Frenchman.
