A new report claims that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer £140 million for Arsenal’s player, who they see as a successor to Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe is expected to leave PSG when his contract expires this summer, and he has been strongly linked with a free transfer to Real Madrid.
The report says that Mbappe has been in touch with two ex-Real players – Sergio Ramos, who is now his PSG colleague, and Achraf Hakimi, who also joined the French club last summer – about what it would be like to play for the Spanish giants.
PSG have been focusing on signing French players, such as Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani and Nordi Mukiele, who all moved to the Parc des Princes last summer.
They have also given opportunities to young local talents like Warren Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola.
But PSG are not only interested in French players – they have also identified Arsenal’s Saka as their main target to fill the gap left by Mbappe.
According to Fichajes, a Spanish outlet, Saka is at the top of their wish list for the summer.
They say that PSG are prepared to make a bid of at least €140 million for the 22-year-old winger, which would be a record fee for Arsenal.
However, the report adds that Arsenal would not want to lose Saka, who is one of their best players, and that they would have to find a suitable replacement if he leaves.
