According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer news expert, Bayern Munich are keen on AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez, but the deal is very difficult and might even demand a record-breaking fee for a left-back.
Romano also gave updates on several Bayern sagas, such as the potential departure of Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid in the summer and the club’s plans for a replacement.
Davies has a contract with Bayern until 2025, so his exit is not certain this year, but Hernandez is another option that the Bavarian giants admire for that role.
The Frenchman has been outstanding for Milan and they are not willing to let him go easily, with Romano claiming that it would take a huge amount of money to lure him away from the San Siro.
However, if Davies does end up joining the Bernabeu from the Allianz Arena, then many Bayern fans would be delighted to see a big-name signing like Hernandez filling his shoes.
How feasible is that? Romano thinks it would be a challenge for Bayern.
“Alphonso Davies remains a target for Real Madrid as long as the price is right. But what about potential replacements for Bayern at left-back?” Romano said.
“Bayern have been monitoring Theo Hernandez for years, but at the moment they haven’t made contact with AC Milan or with his agents.
“So nothing is really concrete yet and we should respect Milan on this one; Hernandez is a crucial player for them, and any club should pay really big big money, probably a record fee for a left-back in case they want to try for him. This is not something that would be ‘easy’ at all.”
