The Independent reports that Ineos is impressed by Dougie Freedman’s ability to find bargains and thinks that the 49-year-old Glaswegian could solve Manchester United’s recruitment problems.
Manchester United are considering hiring Dougie Freedman, who is currently the director of Crystal Palace. A former Premier League midfielder claims that four players signed by Freedman for Crystal Palace could easily fit into Erik ten Hag’s starting XI.
The Red Devils spent about £220 million on Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Casemiro, while Crystal Palace made cheaper but effective signings, such as Ebere Eze, Michael Olise, and Cheick Doucoure, for a total of £45 million.
Danny Murphy told TalkSPORT: “You could argue Eze, Olise, Guehi, even Doucoure, all four of them get into United’s team.”
Would they really improve Manchester United?
Marc Guehi moved to Palace from Chelsea for £18 million. He is another Palace star that Man United are interested in, and he might be better than Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
Guehi and Olise could join United next season. Guehi is a central defender who is athletic, ambidextrous, and skilled with the ball.
Olise also has great dribbling and passing skills.
These four players would make United stronger, but they would cost a lot of money at all.
