Liverpool has shown interest in Simone Inzaghi, the manager of Inter Milan, as a possible replacement for Jurgen Klopp. However, according to recent reports, Inzaghi is likely to reject any offer from Liverpool, making it unlikely that he will join Anfield.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inzaghi is committed to staying with Inter Milan for the long term, as he has created a team that he believes can compete for trophies in the next few years.
His contract expires in 2025, but negotiations are expected to start soon for a new deal, which would probably include a significant increase from his current annual salary of €5.5 million (£4.7m).
Inzaghi recently told the media, via Fabrizio Romano: “I’m happy here at Inter, I feel good with board and fans. About my contract, we’re gonna meet after this season to discuss the extension but the relationship is really great. Talks will be good.”
Inzaghi is still concentrating on leading Inter to victory on the field as they prepare for their match against Bologna this Saturday. Inter are at the top of the Serie A table, with a huge 15-point lead over Juventus, who are in second place.
It looks as though Liverpool will have to cross the Italian off their list of managers they want to replace Jurgen Klopp in the summer.
