Alberto Gilardino asserted that Inter lacks any discernible weaknesses, while emphasizing the imperative for his Genoa team to demonstrate resilience and character ahead of their encounter at the Stadio Meazza on Monday. The Nerazzurri are scheduled to face Genoa at San Siro tomorrow, prompting Gilardino to provide insights into the forthcoming match during a pre-match press briefing convened on Sunday.
“As of today, Inter have proved not to have any weakness,” said the 2006 Italy World Cup winner.
“They are a top side, with incredible players. They have clear ideas and Simone Inzaghi has given them a clear identity. However, anything can happen in a game so we’ll have to go on the pitch with courage and personality.
“There will be more games inside the match and we must be aware that we’ll be facing a great team in great shape. We must run a lot and sacrifice ourselves, but we must show quality, too.”
Gilardino said that only Ridgeciano Haps, Alan Matturro and David Ankeye won’t be available at the Stadio Meazza.
“Even Atletico Madrid were forced to defend against Inter. They played an excellent game even if, in the end, they lost. We must have personality when we have the ball and defend with ferocity,” concluded Gilardino.
