Juventus forward Moise Kean concedes that he harbored feelings of having let down stakeholders when a proposed loan arrangement with Atletico Madrid fell through in January.
The Italian national was poised to undertake a loan stint with Atletico Madrid during the January transfer period. However, the transaction disintegrated subsequent to the evaluation of the player’s medical condition in the Spanish metropolis.
“It was very hard. I was with my mother, and for a moment, I felt like I had disappointed everyone,” Kean said in a video posted on his official YouTube channel.
“My mum let me understand that life didn’t stop there so I kept going. I am a grown man, I take my responsibilities and I keep working hard. Family keeps you up. There are no better things than family, people and everyone around. This is the only thing that can keep you up.”
Kean remains sidelined due to a shin injury, rendering him unavailable for selection in an upcoming Serie A fixture against Napoli at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday.
Having rejoined Juventus from Everton in 2021 subsequent to Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Manchester United, Kean’s tenure with the club has seen him make 12 appearances thus far in the 2023-24 season without securing a goal. Nevertheless, he aspires to regain fitness and contribute to the team’s efforts imminently.
“Before I didn’t know what that’s mean to be working hard. I thought, ok, the talent is doing. I’ve been saying, ‘I’m talented. Why do I need to work for that?’” the striker added.
“But I saw that if you want to be better and better and better, you can’t always be on the same level. I want to be on the top. That’s why I am working on myself all the time.”
