According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan is steadfast in their decision not to offload any pivotal members of their squad during the upcoming summer transfer window. Instead, they intend to extend a new contract to Simone Inzaghi, the team’s current manager, which would secure his services until 2027.
The club, commonly known as the Nerazzurri, is well on their way to clinching their 20th Serie A title, holding a commanding 12-point lead over second-placed Juventus in the league standings.
As outlined in the Sunday print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, President Steven Zhang is determined to bolster the squad further and is resolute in retaining the services of their top talents, in contrast to previous instances where players such as Achraf Hakimi, Romelu Lukaku, and André Onana were sold.
This retention strategy is facilitated by the extension of a loan agreement with Oaktree. The report suggests that only substantial offers would prompt Inter Milan to reconsider their stance, given the owner’s adherence to a comprehensive three-year plan.
In addition to securing the futures of key personnel, Inter Milan is reportedly preparing to extend Inzaghi’s contract by an additional two years, ensuring his tenure until June 2027, coinciding with the expiration dates of contracts held by key executives Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio, and Dario Baccin at the Stadio Meazza.
