Italian giants Juventus are reportedly considering potential replacements for star winger Federico Chiesa, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. This development comes as the club prepares to negotiate a contract extension with Chiesa, whose current deal expires in 2025.
While contract talks are ongoing, reports suggest Juventus are open to offers for Chiesa if he refuses to commit to a long-term future with the club. This stance is further fueled by Chiesa’s perceived struggles this season, having only managed six goals in Serie A. Former World Cup winner Fulvio Collovati has even gone as far as stating that Chiesa’s future lies away from the Allianz Stadium if manager Massimiliano Allegri remains in charge next season.
To prepare for all possibilities, Juventus have identified four Serie A players who could potentially fill the void left by Chiesa’s potential departure. These players include Felipe Anderson (Lazio), Albert Gudmundsson (Genoa), Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo), and Giacomo Raspadori (Napoli).
With Felipe Anderson’s contract expiring in June, he is readily available on a free transfer, and Juventus have reportedly already initiated discussions with his representatives. Additionally, reports from Il Messaggero in January suggested that the Turin club had reached an agreement in principle with the Brazilian winger, previously of Porto and West Ham.
It remains to be seen whether Chiesa will commit his long-term future to Juventus, but the club is actively exploring options and preparing for various scenarios.
