Fulvio Collovati, a former Italy World Cup champion, asserts that Federico Chiesa may be subject to transfer negotiations should Massimiliano Allegri retain managerial duties at Juventus. Chiesa, an Italian international, has tallied six goals in 22 appearances across various competitions this season. Notably, during a recent match against Frosinone at the Allianz Stadium, he was substituted after just 60 minutes in a 3-2 victory. Despite his contract extending until June 2025, Collovati speculates that Chiesa could depart sooner if Allegri continues to lead Juventus in the 2024-25 season.
“If he [Allegri] stays, I am sure Chiesa will be put on the market,” Collovati told RAI, as quoted by Tuttosport.
“I’d do the same. Chiesa has scored five goals [six] and, considering how much Juventus invested, he hasn’t done enough. If Juventus find some English clubs eager to spend, they’ll sell him to get that money back. He hasn’t been up to the task for now.”
Recent reports from Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that Juventus, commonly referred to as the Bianconeri, is adamant on not accepting any offer below €40m for Federico Chiesa, the former Fiorentina star, amidst speculations of a move to Liverpool. Chiesa, who initially joined Juventus on a €12m loan deal from Fiorentina in 2020, saw his transfer made permanent for €43m two years later. Discussions regarding a potential contract extension are anticipated to occur between Juventus and Chiesa’s agent before the conclusion of the current season.
