A spokesperson for Michael Kayode has affirmed that multiple Premier League clubs have been observing the 19-year-old player throughout this season. However, it has been emphasized that Fiorentina should not feel concerned by this development.
Despite his youth, Kayode has consistently featured in matches at the Stadio Franchi this season. He commenced his appearances with his debut in the inaugural league fixture against Genoa and has since accumulated a total of 25 appearances across various competitions.
The talented Italian defender achieved a significant milestone by scoring his inaugural Serie A goal during a 2-1 triumph over Lazio on Monday evening.
“We spoke after the game. I am happy for Mike because he deserves it,” Andrea Ritorni, who is part of the defender’s entourage, told RadioFirenzeViola.
“He had a bad injury that forced him out of action for a while and it wasn’t easy to be involved in the group again. Now I can say he is 100% fit. He feels well physically and mentally.”
Marco Domenichini, assistant to Luciano Spalletti within the coaching staff of the Italian national team, was present in the spectator stands at the Stadio Franchi yesterday, where he witnessed the moment when Kayode netted his inaugural goal in Serie A.
“I am happy Kayo performed well in front of Spalletti’s assistant. He has gained personality, he almost looks like a veteran,” said his agent.
“A call from the national team would be the missing piece. Michael dreams of his call every day.”
According to reports, Arsenal is purportedly among the clubs engaged in the surveillance of the 19-year-old player. Ritorni, the agent representing the player, confirmed that various Premier League clubs have been observing his client throughout the 2023-24 season.
“Yes, but Fiorentina must not be worried. There’s a contract and Michael is happy in this club and in this team,” he said.
“Obviously, several Premier League clubs have scouted him, but it’s normal and is part of life and football. Fiorentina tied him down with a nice contract and many bonuses, so we want to do well with La Viola.”
Kayode’s contractual agreement with the Stadio Franchi is scheduled to expire in June 2028, however, Fiorentina retains the prerogative to prolong the contract for an additional term.
