During the event, Zidane shared insights regarding his own professional trajectory, expressing a desire to venture into coaching within the realm of Italian football. Zidane’s affiliation with Juventus during his playing career, particularly under Lippi’s tutelage from 1996 until his monumental transfer to Real Madrid in 2001, adds depth to his sentiment.
“As a coach, I learned a great deal from both Lippi and Carlo Ancelotti,” Zidane told Sky Sport Italia and DAZN.
“Lippi was the first coach who really believed in me. He brought me to Juve and I became the player I was thanks to him.”
The final match of Zinedine Zidane’s illustrious career coincided with the presence of Marcello Lippi, who managed the Italy squad that emerged victorious in the 2006 World Cup Final, securing the title through a penalty shootout.

Meanwhile, rumors have circulated regarding Zidane’s potential return to Serie A and Juventus, this time as a coach, possibly succeeding Max Allegri in the upcoming season. When asked about his interest in managerial opportunities in Italy, Zidane remained evasive.
“Why not, anything could happen. I would like to coach in Italy one day.”
