Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent has suggested that his client might become available in the summer, presenting Chelsea with an excellent opportunity to address their issues on the left wing.
Chelsea’s struggles in attack were evident once again during their recent Carabao Cup final defeat to a youthful Liverpool side. Despite significant investment, their attacking prowess remains lacking. Players like Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk occasionally show flashes of quality, but Raheem Sterling, while still talented, is reportedly being considered for sale in the summer.
Particularly disappointing has been Mudryk’s performance since joining Chelsea last year in a deal potentially worth €100 million. With only four goals and five assists in 43 appearances, the 23-year-old has fallen out of favor in the starting lineup and has been urged by head coach Mauricio Pochettino to improve significantly.
Mudryk’s lackluster display in the Carabao Cup final highlights his struggles, further raising doubts about his future at Chelsea. In contrast, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is facing uncertainty at Napoli, could provide an ideal upgrade. The 23-year-old’s agent has hinted at interest from top clubs like Barcelona and PSG, indicating that Kvaratskhelia could be on the move in the summer.
Despite a less prolific season than his previous one, Kvaratskhelia’s six goals and five assists still outshine Mudryk’s output. Considering Chelsea’s need for improvement in attack, Kvaratskhelia could offer a promising solution to their left-wing dilemma.
However, according to data analysts SciSports, Kvaratskhelia is considered to be twice the player Mudryk is. Even if Mudryk were to fulfill his potential, Kvaratskhelia is already rated higher, with a potential rating of 93.5 compared to Mudryk’s 93.7 current ability and 118.6 potential.
Furthermore, Chelsea is seen as an ideal destination for Kvaratskhelia, second only to Real Madrid, who are expected to have Kylian Mbappe in the left-wing position. Therefore, Chelsea appears to be the best fit for Kvaratskhelia’s next club. According to SciSports’ Career Advice tool, Chelsea has a highly favorable Club Fit rating of 81.
