Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri reflected on his enduring connection with the club, which he has served for nearly a decade. Allegri initially joined the Bianconeri in 2014, orchestrating their continued dominance with five Scudetto titles and four Coppa Italia triumphs. After a two-year hiatus, the 56-year-old returned for a second tenure in 2021, albeit with less success than his first stint. Nonetheless, Allegri emphasized the emotional attachment he holds for Juventus following their thrilling 3-2 victory over Frosinone on Sunday.
“We embarked on a journey upon my return, and we are still on that path,” remarked the Livorno native during his post-match interview with Rai (via JuventusNews24) regarding his future. “Having been associated with Juventus for 10 years, there is undoubtedly an emotional bond.”
Regarding his potential contract renewal, Allegri remained noncommittal, stating, “I am solely focused on the current campaign and the team’s present state.”
Allegri also addressed the situation of Federico Chiesa, who has struggled to regain form since returning from injury. Chiesa’s performance against Frosinone was another disappointment. Allegri advised the 26-year-old to maintain composure while striving to regain peak physical condition.
“Federico needs to stay composed; we discussed it during the week. He must rediscover his optimal condition,” Allegri remarked. “Having missed some recent training sessions, he is not currently at his best physically. However, he will undoubtedly be a crucial player for us from now until the season’s conclusion.”
