Mikel Arteta insists Arsenal must do better if they’re to overturn Wednesday night’s defeat to Porto – after failing to manage a single shot on target.
Arsenal didn’t showcase their usual dynamic attacking style during their match in Portugal on Wednesday. Despite this, they seemed poised to secure a goalless draw. However, in the dramatic 93rd minute, Brazilian forward Galeno scored a remarkable goal, clinching victory for the home team and giving them the advantage going into the second leg in North London in three weeks.
After the match, the Arsenal manager expressed his frustration with his team’s performance, particularly their lack of effectiveness in the attacking third.
“We have to manage much better. We cannot win with the way we handled the ball on three occasions in deep areas. If you want to be in the quarter-finals you have to beat your opponent and this is what we will have to do at the Emirates now.
