The 19-year-old came extremely close to securing his dream Premier League move in January, and should be on the move this summer.
The 2024 January transfer window was notably quiet for a variety of reasons. Even the Premier League, which is typically associated with vast wealth, did not escape this trend, as most of its clubs witnessed the recruitment period pass by without any significant activity.
However, there were a few exceptions to this trend. One such case involved three London clubs who made determined efforts to bring Antonio Nusa to England.
Both Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly reached out to Club Brugge regarding the availability of the forward. Ultimately, it was Brentford that emerged as the most likely destination for Nusa.
In fact, Brentford even managed to negotiate a £25 million ($31.1m) deal to secure the services of the Norwegian international. However, during his medical examination, concerns were raised about his knee cartilage and potential long-standing back issues.
As a result, Brentford withdrew from the deal at the last minute, leaving the highly-regarded teenager to continue playing in the top-flight of Belgian football for the remainder of the season.
Undoubtedly, Nusa may have experienced some frustration due to the unfolding events. However, there is ample time for him to secure his significant career advancement. In fact, it is highly probable that numerous renowned European clubs will reevaluate the exceptional talent during this summer.
