Chelsea and Newcastle are both contemplating a potential transfer for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the upcoming summer, as the talented England player appears poised to depart from the Emirates Stadium before the 2024/25 season kicks off.
Ramsdale, a 25-year-old player, became a member of the Gunners in 2021 through a £30m agreement with AFC Bournemouth. He played a vital role for Mikel Arteta’s team in the previous season as they contended for the Premier League title.
However, during the ongoing campaign, the Spanish coach has chosen to exclude him from the best 11, leading to his potential departure.
Last summer, Arsenal secured the services of David Raya from Brentford on loan, and he has now taken over as the starting goalkeeper, replacing Ramsdale. Consequently, the English goalkeeper has only featured in 11 matches this season.
With Raya expected to permanently join the North London club for the 2024/25 season, Ramsdale is now seeking opportunities elsewhere to gain more playing time. Several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in acquiring his services.
