Arsenal is closely monitoring the RB Leipzig forward, Benjamin Sesko, who is also being pursued by Chelsea and Manchester United.
In light of their Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night, the Gunners are intensifying their efforts to secure a forward during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Manager Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster his squad with more attacking power in the upcoming season. Arsenal has been keeping an eye on 6ft 4in Sesko as they explore their options. The 20-year-old Slovenian is also being monitored by Chelsea and Manchester United, adding to the competition for his signature.
Sesko’s representatives have attended matches of both Chelsea and Manchester United this season. Despite only joining RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last year, the Bundesliga club is already considering replacements as they anticipate his potential departure. Sesko’s contract includes a €50million (£42.7m) release clause that will come into effect in the summer.
Sesko, a tall and agile forward, has been drawing comparisons to Erling Haaland due to his impressive performance of scoring 13 goals in all competitions this season.
Despite the similarities, Sesko remains unfazed by the comparison as he possesses a different playing style and versatility to play out wide. Arsenal is considering him as an option for both centre-forward and winger positions, as his wage demands are believed to be more reasonable compared to other forwards in the market.
