Harry Kane believes that Bayern Munich’s season will be deemed unsuccessful if they fail to secure victory in the Champions League. As they prepare to face Arsenal in the second leg of their quarter-final, Bayern’s focus is solely on the prestigious European competition.
Despite their recent loss of the Bundesliga title after an impressive 11-year streak, Kane sees the Champions League as an opportunity to salvage their season. He acknowledges the high expectations placed upon the club and acknowledges that not winning any silverware this year would be considered a disappointment.
However, he remains optimistic and looks towards the future, aiming to use this experience as motivation to turn things around in the coming seasons.
Harry Kane, the former Tottenham forward, has yet to secure a trophy in his career. He also downplayed the importance of facing Arsenal, the north London rivals of Spurs.
The England captain, who has netted 39 goals for his club in all competitions this season, was let go by Arsenal when he was young.
Kane mentioned, “I have a long history with Arsenal, having played for Spurs for many years in the north London derby. It used to be the most significant game of the season every year, but now it’s a new phase.”
He continued, “Perhaps being released at a young age was always at the back of my mind, giving me a point to prove. I have always been the kind of player who has had something to prove throughout my entire career. I believe that feeling never truly goes away.”
