Juventus and Newcastle United have emerged as potential suitors for Villarreal’s goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen, as indicated by reports from Matteo Moretto. According to the assessments of Football Italia’s transfer specialist, Matteo Moretto, both Juventus and Newcastle have been closely monitoring the 21-year-old Jørgensen’s performances.
Moretto, in his communication with Caught Offside’s Daily Briefing, has disclosed that Juventus’ scouting team has been observing the promising goalkeeper extensively over the past few months. This interest stems from the impending expiration of contracts for Juventus’ current goalkeeping duo, Wojciech Szczęsny and Mattia Perin, in June 2025. Szczęsny, particularly, has been a prominent figure for Juventus, boasting 13 clean sheets in 29 appearances across various competitions, albeit conceding 23 goals.
Aside from Juventus, several other European clubs, including Newcastle United, Wolves, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund, have shown interest in Jørgensen owing to his combination of talent and youthfulness. Despite the attention, Jørgensen remains under contract with Villarreal until June 2027.
Throughout the current season, Jørgensen has featured in 30 matches across different competitions, conceding a total of 53 goals while managing to secure four clean sheets.
