According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, discussions have commenced between Fiorentina, Napoli, and the representatives of Nicolò Zaniolo. Zaniolo, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Roma, is reportedly available for transfer in the upcoming summer window for a fee of €20 million, subsequent to his return from Aston Villa.
Having experienced a lackluster loan tenure at Aston Villa during the ongoing season, Zaniolo is poised to rejoin Galatasaray. Despite making 23 appearances across various competitions, the former Roma forward managed to score only twice and accrued a total playing time of 736 minutes under the management of Unai Emery.
Expressing his aspiration to resume his career in Serie A, the 24-year-old has reportedly attracted the interest of Fiorentina and Napoli. It is understood that both clubs have initiated initial discussions with the player’s representatives, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
Napoli talks with Zaniolo and striker’s price tag
Based on the report, Napoli holds a marginal advantage over the Tuscans, primarily due to the endorsement of their new sports director, Giovanni Manna, who holds a strong admiration for Zaniolo. It is noted that Manna has previously attempted to secure Zaniolo for Juventus.
The publication asserts that the financial conditions of a prospective agreement align with Napoli’s transfer policies. Zaniolo’s annual earnings, approximately €2.7 million, coincide with Napoli’s parameters, while Galatasaray has signaled readiness to negotiate a transfer fee of €20 million following his tenure with Aston Villa.
