The initial stages of police investigation have uncovered the whereabouts of a concealed skeletal remains found in the vicinity of The Cliff academy of Manchester University. The homicide investigation is underway subsequent to the discovery of a body wrapped in a nylon bag in a woodland area in Salford on Thursday.
Police disclosed that the skeletal remains found near MU’s training academy belong to a male individual approximately aged 40. DNA tests are being conducted to ascertain the victim’s identity. The entire area surrounding The Cliff, which was formerly the training ground of Manchester United’s first team and now houses the academy headquarters, has been cordoned off by the police to facilitate the investigation.
A forensic expert summoned to the scene has confirmed the remains to be human. As of now, no arrests have been made. Superintendent Tony Creely, the commanding officer of Salford district for Greater Manchester Police, stated, “This is a particularly distressing case with unusual developments, and through forensic examinations, we have been able to confirm that the victim is a male.”
“Our investigation’s focus is on this man and his family. We are utilizing all available forensic techniques to determine the victim’s identity as soon as possible to assist his loved ones during this difficult time,” he added.
“I would like to express gratitude for the cooperation of the public in recent days. The presence of our police and expert teams will undoubtedly impact the lives of residents in the area. However, we greatly appreciate any information the public can provide,” Creely continued.

The Cliff is a sports facility located in Broughton, Salford. Manchester United utilized The Cliff as the main training ground for their first team until 1999 when they moved to Carrington. Currently, The Cliff serves as the headquarters of the academy and hosts matches for Manchester United’s youth teams.
