Joao Felix has disclosed that Bernardo Silva has expressed interest in joining Barcelona, stating that the Manchester City player is his top choice for a transfer.
This endorsement from Felix comes amidst ongoing speculation linking Silva with a potential move to Barcelona. Reports from Mundo Deportivo have indicated that Silva is increasingly interested in joining Barcelona, adding to the already intense transfer rumors surrounding the Portuguese maestro.
Felix’s urging for his board to bring Silva to Camp Nou is further fueled by Silva’s release clause of $63 million (£50 million) at Manchester City, which will become active this summer.
Additionally, Felix revealed that Silva has a desire to wear the prestigious No.10 shirt at Barcelona, a number previously worn by club legend Lionel Messi.
If Barcelona decides to pursue Silva in the upcoming transfer window, they will need to sell some of their current assets in order to comply with La Liga’s Financial Fair Play regulations (FFP).
President Joan Laporta would face a challenging task in executing this transfer, especially considering his commitment to retaining Felix and Joao Cancelo at the end of their respective loan spells.
