According to a report from Tuttosport newspaper, Thiago Motta emerges as the primary contender to assume the managerial reins at Juventus for the 2024-25 season should Massimiliano Allegri be relieved of his duties. However, in the event of Allegri’s premature departure before the conclusion of the ongoing campaign, either Massimo Brambilla or Paolo Montero, a revered figure within the club, could serve as interim coaches.
Allegri finds himself under considerable scrutiny at the Allianz Stadium due to Juventus’ lackluster recent form, having secured only one victory in their last nine matches. Despite currently occupying third place in the Serie A standings, the Bianconeri face mounting pressure as Bologna trails them by a mere two points, while both Roma and Atalanta pose a threat to their Champions League aspirations.
Tuttosport suggests that Allegri’s tenure could be in jeopardy should Juventus fail to produce favorable results in their upcoming Serie A fixtures against Fiorentina and Torino.
In the event of Allegri’s departure, potential replacements include Juventus NextGen coach Brambilla or Montero, who presently oversees the Juventus Primavera (U19) squad.
Nevertheless, the frontrunner to assume Allegri’s position at the conclusion of the season is Thiago Motta, the current manager of Bologna, whose contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara is set to expire in June. It is pertinent to note that Allegri remains under contract at the Allianz Stadium until June 2025.
