On Monday of the previous week (25/3), Dani Alves was released from Brians 2 prison after posting a bail of 1 million euros. At that time, many questioned where the former Brazilian defender had acquired such a sum, considering his purported financial difficulties.
Speculations arose suggesting that the individual who provided bail for Alves was Neymar’s father, and even his former teammate Memphis Depay. However, the latest information contradicts both of these assumptions. The 1 million euro amount was not contributed by any individual.
Marisa Blazquez, a coordinator at Telecinco television channel, revealed on the Fiesta program that the owner of this amount was a prestigious Brazilian magazine. “It is a very famous magazine in Brazil, known for publishing sensational articles about Brazilian celebrities, both domestically and internationally,” Marisa disclosed.
And this “famous magazine” did not spend 1 million euros to bail out Alves for charitable purposes. Instead, they invested this amount to acquire exclusive rights to a documentary series about the former Brazilian international. It chronicles the life and career of the former Barca defender, including a documentary-style video. The 1 million euro figure also serves as a deposit for undisclosed expenses. Notably, Alves actively suggested involving his ex-wife, Joana Sanz, as a partner in the project.
Alves was arrested in January 2023 on charges of sexually assaulting a woman at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022. In late February 2024, he was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison by a Barcelona court, before being released on bail the previous Monday (25/3).
