According to sources, Manchester City is set to make another bid for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta this summer, following the collapse of their previous agreement.
Senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that Paqueta will be actively working behind the scenes to secure a move to City.
Last summer, the reigning Premier League champions had reached a £80 million deal in principle to sign the Brazilian playmaker.
However, the deal fell through due to Paqueta’s involvement in a betting investigation by the FA. Football Insider has reported that West Ham expects City to reignite their interest in Paqueta this summer and will not impede the move as long as their asking price is met.
West Ham broke their transfer record by signing Paqueta from Lyon for £51 million in 2022, and they will be keen to make a profit on the 26-year-old. City has maintained their interest in Paqueta and has been patiently waiting to resume their pursuit of his signature this summer.
