According to recent updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sandro Tonali’s daily routine during his 10-month suspension from the FIGC primarily revolves around three activities: training, therapy sessions, and spending time at home with his family and loved ones.
The former Milan midfielder has been ineligible to play since October 2023, following confirmation of a 10-month suspension imposed by the FIGC due to his involvement in prohibited betting practices. Additionally, it was disclosed on Thursday that Tonali faces misconduct charges from the FA in England, stemming from approximately 50 bets allegedly placed between August and October 2023, subsequent to his €80 million transfer from Milan to Newcastle.
Reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that Tonali is said to be ‘doing well’ and believes that the most challenging moments of his recovery lie behind him. In England, he continues his rehabilitation efforts, primarily through therapy sessions conducted by specialist Prof. Gabriele Sani. Concurrently, he engages in rigorous training in preparation for his anticipated return to action upon the expiration of his suspension on August 27.
Tonali receives support from his family, including several relatives, his partner Giulia, and his agent Giuseppe Riso of GR Sports. La Gazzetta further notes that while Tonali acknowledges the ongoing effort required to overcome his challenges, he eagerly anticipates his return to St James’ Park, ‘counting down the days’ until then.
