Real Madrid is set to enter the race for Lille defender Leny Yoro this summer, joining Chelsea and Manchester United in their pursuit of the talented youngster.
Yoro, who is only 18 years old, has made a name for himself as one of the most promising prospects in Europe after establishing himself in Lille’s senior team over the past year and a half.
He has already made 35 appearances for Les Dogues this season, including 24 starts in Ligue 1.
Standing at 6ft 3in, Yoro has been a key player for Lille, contributing to their strong position in the French top-flight table and keeping 14 clean sheets when he has played in defense.
His rapid rise has attracted the attention of several top European clubs, with Chelsea and Manchester United showing a keen interest in securing his services. However, they may face tough competition from Real Madrid, who are also eyeing the young defender.
Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, is reportedly looking to bolster their defensive options with a young talent, as several of their current defenders are entering their thirties.
Yoro, who is believed to prefer a move to Real Madrid, was initially valued at €100m (£85m) by Lille, but the price has now dropped to €60m (£51m).
