Reports suggest that Manchester United are contemplating a surprising transfer move for Ivan Toney. The Red Devils are currently in search of a new forward to provide competition for Rasmus Hojlund in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Toney, who plays for Brentford, could be a potential target for Manchester United. Toney himself has expressed his desire to leave Brentford and explore new opportunities.
Manchester United is yet to finalize their transfer strategy for the summer, as they navigate the recent investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos, who now have control over the club’s football operations.
Ratcliffe and his team are still determining the specific player profiles they are looking for, including whether to pursue an experienced or younger striker. However, Romano suggests that Toney’s availability might prompt Manchester United to take action.
Romano said: “It’s just one of the options to be considered and discussed internally.
“Man United are still in early stages of the process to decide which striker they want to sign; experienced or young.
“Talks are gonna take place internally, Toney will be one of the names available on the market so could be one to watch.”
