Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri expressed his disappointment with the struggles of his loan club Granada, despite the fact that he is receiving ample playing time. He described the current situation as a “complicated time.”
Pellistri has had limited opportunities to play for Manchester United’s senior team, with the majority of his 24 appearances coming off the bench.
Due to his lack of minutes, the Uruguayan was sent out on loan to Granada during the January transfer window. While he has settled in well personally, contributing three goals including a goal and an assist in a 3-3 draw with Barcelona, the team’s overall results have been mostly negative.
Out of the six La Liga games Pellistri has played for Granada, they have drawn three and lost three, with the losses occurring consecutively in the past three matches. Currently, the club is second from bottom and 13 points away from safety.
Although Pellistri is pleased with the playing time he is receiving away from Manchester United, he is saddened by the team’s inability to deliver strong performances, putting them at risk of relegation.
If Pellistri returns to Manchester United in the summer, he may have the opportunity to receive more playing time next season. He has been impressive despite Granada’s underwhelming performance, and with the potential departures of Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho, there could be an opening for him to move up the ranks.
There is also a possibility that he has progressed to a different stage, however, his agent has recently expressed that it will be challenging for him to succeed under the management of Erik ten Hag, as he feels undervalued at United.
In the event that the Dutchman is dismissed, which appears to be a genuine possibility, Pellistri might be offered a more significant position.
