Central defender Tyrone Mings has left fans astonished by sharing the latest images of his recovery process following a serious injury.
The Aston Villa player sustained a severe knee injury in the opening match of the season against Newcastle last August. Tyrone Mings suffered a torn knee ligament, resulting in him being sidelined for the entirety of the 2023/24 season. Any hopes of participating in EURO 2024 for the central defender, who has represented the England national team on 18 occasions, have also been shattered.
Despite a successful surgery, Tyrone Mings remains dedicated to his recovery process. The Aston Villa footballer consistently updates his progress in physical therapy training on his personal social media platform. In his latest Instagram post, Mings shares images of strength-building exercises for both legs.
What astonishes fans is the condition of muscle atrophy in Mings’ right leg. A ruptured ligament injury and months away from the field have resulted in significant muscle loss and a smaller size compared to his left leg.
“The condition of muscle atrophy in the right leg is truly alarming,” commented an individual on Instagram. “I wonder how long it will take for him to regain the muscle of a footballer,” while another comment reads, “Tyrone Mings will have to exert a lot of effort.”
Meanwhile, the English defender expresses a positive attitude towards the recovery process from injury. Tyrone Mings wrote in a caption on Instagram: “When going through tough days and reflecting on the journey we’ve been through, it truly is those things that make us understand the value of life.”
At the age beyond thirty, Tyrone Mings contemplated retirement following a knee ligament injury. However, buoyed by his current recovery trajectory, the Aston Villa player is now confidently anticipating a return to football.
In a future day, all these present days will become distant memories and valuable experiences. I anticipate a return to the grounds of Villa Park,” Mings scribed in a caption accompanying the diligent images within the training room.
Tyrone Mings matured through the Southampton training academy and rose to prominence wearing the Aston Villa colors (166 appearances, 8 goals). The center-back, born in 1993, was a member of the England national team that clinched the runner-up position in EURO 2020.
