Teun Koopmeiners has disclosed his intention to depart from Atalanta at the conclusion of the ongoing season, while also confirming the interest expressed by prominent football clubs such as Juventus and various Premier League outfits.
Having established himself as one of the standout midfielders in Serie A over recent years, the Dutch international has naturally attracted attention from several elite teams vying to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.
In an interview with telegraaf.nl, the 26-year-old acknowledged the interest from Juventus and Premier League clubs, underscoring his decision to inform Atalanta of his desire to depart at the end of the current campaign.
“I have communicated to Atalanta my intention to depart in the summer,” remarked the Dutch midfielder.
He further elaborated, “During the previous season, there was tangible interest from Napoli, although negotiations between the two clubs failed to yield an agreement. As we approach this year’s transfer window, I remain hopeful for viable options. While my partner and I have relished our time in Italy, I am open to the prospect of relocating for certain clubs in England.”
Koopmeiners candidly admitted, “It would be disingenuous of me to claim ignorance regarding the reported interest from Juventus and Premier League clubs. I am aware of the speculations circulating in the media. My tenure at Atalanta has been immensely gratifying, and I trust that the club will command a substantial fee for my transfer.”
Koopmeiners’ stats and Atalanta asking price
Koopmeiners has tallied a total of 12 goals in 34 outings across various competitions in the ongoing season, notably netting twice against Juventus during a recent encounter in Serie A, precisely two weeks prior.
Reportedly, scouts from Manchester United observed Koopmeiners firsthand in Turin, as per accounts from Italy. However, there have been indications linking Liverpool and Tottenham to a potential pursuit of the Dutch midfielder.
Numerous sources within Italy posit that Atalanta has set the asking price for Koopmeiners at €60 million.
