The Norwegian national team has dismissed any concerns regarding the injury status of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
The 23-year-old was observed leaving a training session with a limp on Tuesday, experiencing discomfort ahead of Norway’s upcoming international friendlies against the Czech Republic and Slovakia later this month.
Haaland had previously been substituted during Manchester City’s FA Cup victory over Newcastle prior to the international break. However, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola downplayed any worries about his fitness.
Guardiola stated, “He is not my player anymore from now on, what they [Norway] will decide will be fine. They know that they fought a lot and train a lot, a lot of adrenaline and concentration to arrive in this position. They know they are friendly games and they have to handle it wisely. Hopefully they can do it.”
City is scheduled to face Premier League title contenders Arsenal on Sunday, March 31, in another significant fixture at the summit of the league. They will then travel to Real Madrid for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday, April 2.
Aside from Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Ederson are also sources of injury concern for Manchester City. However, Norway team doctor Ola Sand assured TV 2 Sport that there were no issues regarding Haaland.
The forward has already endured over two months of absence this season due to a foot injury.
