Former Bayern defender Jerome Boateng has been accused by his own mother of domestic violence against women over several years. The name Jerome Boateng is making headlines in various German newspapers following accusations from his own mother, Martina Boateng. According to Der Spiegel, these allegations were brought forward by Martina Boateng to a lawyer via email in 2021. Martina also referenced the death of Kasia Lenhardt, Boateng’s former girlfriend. Kasia Lenhardt was originally a Polish supermodel. She and Boateng publicly announced their romantic relationship at the end of 2019. Kasia Lenhardt was found dead in her own home in February 2021 after committing suicide.
The announcement from the Berlin police at the time stated: “Police were called to the Charlottenburg area for suspicion of suicide. A lifeless person was found in the house. There were no signs of external influence.” Subsequent autopsy results revealed that the young woman had suffered a torn eardrum prior to her death. “My son has been mentally and physically abusing women for many years. Kasia Lenhardt ended her life, which is the consequence of Boateng’s actions,” excerpted from an email that the mother of the Salernitana FC player, formerly with Bayern Munich, sent to her lawyer.
Before the suicide of Kasia, the relationship between the two had been tumultuous, with Boateng accusing Kasia of extortion. Boateng accused Lenhardt of interfering and disrupting his relationship with his former girlfriend, Rebecca Silvera. This led to the breakdown of the Boateng family. Boateng also admitted to deceiving his former girlfriend, Rebecca Silvera, to be with Kasia Lenhardt. Furthermore, the 2014 World Cup champion also mentioned that his former girlfriend had issues with alcohol. Kasia became a victim of cyberbullying, even harassment, on social media after the scandal broke, and the German press suggests this drove her to suicide. According to De Spiegel, Kasia Lenhardt intended to file a complaint against Jerome Boateng with the police before her death. The German international was investigated by the prosecutor’s office, but the court later dismissed the case due to lack of evidence.
