Jurgen Klopp’s future after his tenure with Liverpool has been a topic of much speculation, particularly regarding the possibility of him taking over the German national team. While there have been strong links suggesting Klopp could be in line for the role after Julian Nagelsmann’s departure post-Euro 2024, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Klopp is unlikely to assume the position in the near future.
Klopp has previously stated that he does not intend to manage any other club in England besides Liverpool and has expressed a desire to take a break from coaching after the 2023-24 season. Additionally, his agent has confirmed that Klopp is not available for the Germany job as his contract with Liverpool runs until June 2026. This suggests that while the interest from the German national team is there, Klopp’s own plans may not align with an immediate move to international management.
According to him, the only thing known for sure right now is that Klopp is not intending to speak to any club or national team for the moment—no chance. Germany have Nagelsmann now, a top coach, so their full focus is on the Euros. Any potential change will need to wait until after that and could depend on how well Germany perform at the tournament.
