Football Italia’s transfer expert, Matteo Moretto, has indicated that there exists no definitive agreement between Manchester United and Torino’s full-back, Raoul Bellanova, suggesting that the player may remain with the Granata beyond the forthcoming summer.
In the latest developments concerning Bellanova’s potential transfer, Moretto, speaking on Caught Offside, conveyed that discussions between Manchester United and the Italian full-back have not progressed beyond preliminary stages.
While earlier reports from Italy suggested that the Red Devils had dispatched scouts to observe the former Inter and Cagliari defender’s performances, Moretto clarified that substantive negotiations between the Premier League behemoth and Torino are yet to commence.
Furthermore, United faces an additional hurdle as Torino’s President, Urbano Cairo, has expressed reluctance to part ways with several players in the upcoming transfer window.
Notably, Torino’s standout defender, Alessandro Buongiorno, has garnered significant interest from various clubs, notably Milan. Consequently, if the Granata’s captain were to depart during the summer, it appears improbable that Torino would sanction the departure of Bellanova as well.
At 23 years old, Bellanova has showcased his versatility with one goal and five assists across 27 Serie A appearances in the current season. Having joined Torino for a modest fee of €7 million from Cagliari last summer, his future at the club remains uncertain amid the swirling transfer speculation.
