Ronaldo Nazario’s son, Ronald, has indeed taken a different path from his legendary father. While he showed early promise in football, even being selected for the Brazil under 18 squad and participating in the Maccabiah games, Ronald has found his calling in the music industry as a DJ.
He has achieved considerable success, amassing a significant following on social media and performing at various clubs, including hyping up fans at Cruzeiro’s matches, a club where his father has a controlling stake. Ronald’s career shift to music, specializing in electronic and house genres, showcases his talent and individuality, carving out his own legacy separate from the footballing greatness of his father.
Ronaldo was beaming with joy and on Instagram he wrote: “A special hug for my son Ronald Lima who is in the Under-18 soccer team. Good luck, guys! Go for it, Brazil!'”.
Milene Domingues, the mother of Ronald, is not only celebrated for her 20 appearances for her national football team but also for her extraordinary feat at the age of 17, when she set a world record in keepy-ups, achieving an astounding 55,187 touches. This remarkable achievement etched her name in the annals of football history.
With such illustrious football figures as parents, it seemed almost predestined that Ronald would inherit the mantle and continue the family’s football legacy. However, Ronald carved out his own niche, stepping away from the lush green pitches to embrace the pulsating world of music as a DJ. Embracing his passion, he chose the moniker “DJ Ronald,” a simple yet fitting tribute to his newfound profession.
DJ Ronald’s journey into the music industry has been met with resounding success. He boasts a substantial following on Instagram, with 377,000 fans tuning into his life and work, and his music has captivated hundreds of thousands of listeners on Spotify. His specialization in electronic and house music has not only resonated with his audience but also brought him to the forefront of the music scene.
One of the highlights of DJ Ronald’s career occurred in 2022, a moment that was as symbolic as it was electrifying. He took center stage at a Cruzeiro match, the very club where his father, Ronaldo, holds a controlling stake. In front of a roaring crowd of 60,000 fans, DJ Ronald set the stage alight with his music, elevating the atmosphere before Cruzeiro’s pivotal Brazilian Serie A promotion-clinching match against Vasco de Gama. It was a poignant scene as his father watched from the stands, a proud moment where past and present converged in celebration.
Ronald’s presence is also a staple in Ibiza, the mecca of dance music. His regular performances there have solidified his reputation as a distinguished DJ in the global dance music community. Despite choosing a path divergent from football, Ronald has earned the admiration and pride of his father. This was publicly acknowledged by Ronaldo during a live stream with David Beckham in 2020, where he expressed his heartfelt pride over his son’s accomplishments in the music industry.
Through his dedication and talent, DJ Ronald has demonstrated that while he may not tread the same path as his parents, he carries the same spirit of excellence and has made a name for himself in an entirely different arena.
“He’s an amazing DJ and he’s in Brazil,” he said on Instagram live.
“It’s my fault, I used to play CDs all the time. He grew up seeing me playing lots of music and he became a DJ.
“He’s very good, he plays electronic music. In Brazil and everywhere they call him.
“Last year he played in Ibiza for three different clubs.”
In July, Ronald showed off a major body transformation after shedding a whopping 23 kilograms following a strict training programme which consisted of working out six days per week and consuming less than 2000 calories per day.
